Workers from Maine Coast Construction and Owen J. Folsom Inc. poured the last of three foundation sections Aug. 15 for Front Street Shipyard's 22,500-square-foot Building 6.

Folsom delivered 700 yards of fiber-reinforced concrete using a convoy of 12 mixer trucks that shuttled a total of 70 loads from the Old Town-based company's concrete plant in Searsport. Two previous sections of the foundation each required slightly less material, according to a worker at the shipyard.

The shipyard has been receiving a steady stream of trucks delivering steel components for the new building, which will be the largest on the property when it opens later this year.
