The Camden Hills girls cross-country team was back to its impressive tricks — namely, dominating the competition — in an opening meet on Friday, Aug. 31.

The Windjammers finished as unbeaten league, regional and state Class A champions in 2017 and it appears this fall may be more of the same for the deep, talented squad.

In a season-opening meet hosted by Bangor on Friday, the Camden Hills girls came with a whisker of a perfect score of 15.

The Windjammers placed five scoring runners among the top seven, including winner Augusta Stockman in 20:28.22. She bested a field of 42 runners.

Bangor's Gabe Coffey finished first in the 84-runner boys race in 16:23.21.

The girls team scores were: Camden Hills 18, Hampden Academy 54, Bangor 70 and Belfast 101. The boys team scores were: Hampden Academy 26, Bangor 35, Brewer 84, Belfast 111 and Camden Hills 129.
