The Mount View football team knew its hands would be full with its season-opening high school road game on Friday night, Aug. 31 against powerhouse Foxcroft Academy.

Despite that, the Mustangs struggled to put points on the board and had an even more difficult time trying to bottle up the Ponies’ high-scoring offense as the hosts walked off Oakes Field with a 56-12 win.

Foxcroft Academy's offense was nearly unstoppable and was paced by Logan Martin (31 yards rushing, 146 yards receiving, 3 touchdowns), Luke Stedman (33 yards receiving, 8 extra points), Jesse Drury (22 yards rushing), Michael Niles (78 yards rushing, 2 TDs), Jeremy Richard (9 yards rushing, 53 yards receiving, TD), Chase Higgins (11 yards rushing), Noah Contreras (2 yards rushing, 18 yards receiving, TD), Hyatt Smith (40 receiving yards) and Austin Seavey (9 yards rushing).

Matthew Spooner had 290 passing yards and added 62 yards rushing under center for Foxcroft Academy.

Leading the Mount View offense was Kyle Noble (13 yards rushing, 8 yards receiving), Jack Valleau (36 yards rushing, 2 TDs), Mark Ward (6 yards rushing), James Thompson (18 rushing yards, 128 punt return yards) and Garrett Smith (40 yards receiving).

Quarterback Brady Moulton threw for 48 yards and rushed for 65 more under center for the visitors.

Leading the Mount View defense were Noble (3 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles), Jack Valleau (4 solos, 4 assists, quarterback sack), Ward (3 assists), Thompson (3 solos, 5 assists, 2 sacks), Brady Moulton (4 solos, 2 assists, sack), Smith (2 solos, 2 assists), Colby Ingraham (fumble recovery, 2 assists), Kyle Ingraham (solo, 2 assists), Sam Valleau (solo, assist), Gabe Gagnon (3 solos, 7 assists), Paul Nadeau (solo, 4 assists), Sawyer Inman (solo, 2 assists), Hayden Hunt (solo, 2 assist), Oliver Purinton-Brown (3 assists), William Turner (4 assists) and Jacob Nelson (solo, 2 assists).

For Foxcroft Academy, Martin, Sam Clawson and Smith had interceptions and Caleb Ladd a fumble recovery on defense.
