Edwin L. Giggie, 92, of Madison, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, in Madison.

He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in New London, Conn., the son of Theodore and Bernice (Lloyd) Giggie.

Edwin was a World War II Navy veteran.

He and his wife farmed in Monroe for many years. They also ran a small take-out restaurant after moving back to the Madison area.

Edwin was a carpenter and builder of many of the homes they lived in. His Yankee ingenuity was source of much enjoyment, not to mention a few concerns.

He was predeceased by his wife Wilda and his stepson Vern Smith; his brother, Ted Giggie; his three sisters, Phyllis Dickey, Avis Currier and Ruth Epperson; and two brothers-in-law, Elwyn Dickey and Lloyd Neally.

He is survived by his two sisters, Neva Moody and her husband Dale, and Mary-Lou Neally; and sister-in-law, Marie Giggie, all of Monroe; brother-in-law, Ralph Currier of Eddington; and many nieces and nephews.

We, his family, wish to thank his benefactors for their many acts of kindness and the outreach V.A. personnel, also the caregivers at Maplecrest Rehab and Living Center in Madison.
