Auren C. Taylor, 88, of Searsport, passed away in Orono on Sept. 10, 2018. He was born in Harmony on June 27, 1930.

He attended school in Harmony and was drafted into the Army in 1948.

He met and married the love of his life, Helen Buzzell, and they started their family together. His family remembers him as a hard worker and great story teller who loved to read. Auren also enjoyed children and his family. Auren drove log trucks for many years. He worked as a farmer, drove school bus in Searsport for many years as well as opening graves in Harmony.

He was predeceased by his parents; son Leonard and daughter Annette; brother Elwin and sister Edith.

Auren is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Taylor of Searsport; his children, Helen Moody and husband Earl Sr. of Prospect, Wayne Taylor Sr. of Augusta, Carla-Lynn Paige and husband William of Northport, and Jeffrey Cook and wife Mirisha of Canaan; siblings Eloise Libby, and Herman Taylor and wife Shirley, all of Skowhegan; 19 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren and very special friend, Peter Johnson Sr. and wife Elaine.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the VFW on Field Street in Belfast. Private interment will be held at Libby Cemetery in Harmony. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared at
