All it takes is for one second to change the outcome of game, and the Mount View field hockey team found that out on Tuesday, Sept. 18, on the road against Nokomis, as the Mustangs lost 2-1.

The game was tied with seven seconds remaining in the second half, when the Warriors’ Alexys Dow added the go-ahead goal for the hosts, which, ultimately, lifted Nokomis to the home victory.

The game was knotted 1-1 at halftime.

Mount View held an early lead when Brianna Tripp scored with 27:26 left in the first half. Devon Burgess recorded the assist on Tripp's goal.

Nokomis countered just over seven minutes later, when Lauren Underhill found the back of the cage.

In the Maine Principals' Association Heal Point Standings for Class C North, Mount View (3-5, 11.3265 points) is fourth, while Winthrop (8-0, 49.1837 points) is first in the 11-team region. The top eight teams make the playoffs.
