The high school golf playoffs arrived in full force on Thursday, Sept. 20, as Medomak Valley, Camden Hills, Mount View of Thorndike and Belfast hit the links for Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A and B South Division quarterfinal matches.

The Panthers and Windjammers conquered their visiting foes, as No. 3 Medomak Valley knocked off No. 6 Mount View of Thorndike 9-0 in Class B and No. 4 Camden Hills disposed of No. 4 Leavitt of Turner 6.5-2.5 in Class A, in home matches.

Meanwhile, No. 5 Belfast lost to No. 4 Lincoln Academy of Newcastle 6-3 in Class B on the road.

With Thursday's postseason wins, the Panthers and Windjammers move on to the league semifinals on Monday, Sept. 24. Medomak Valley will play No. 2 Oceanside and Camden Hills will play at No. 1 Mount Ararat, both at 3;30 p.m., at Highland Green and Rockland, respectively.

Oceanside and Medomak Valley play home matches at RGC. This season, the Panthers and Mariners split two matches, as Medomak Valley won 5-4 and Oceanside won 8.5-0.5.

Camden Hills lost its lone match to Mount Ararat 8.5-0.5.

The league playoffs are broken into two classes and two divisions. Below are the team standings for those that qualified for the postseason, with records and total points accumulated from each match, of which nine points were available per match for a maximum of 90 for the season.

Class A North: No. 1 Hampden Academy (10-0, 75.5 points), No. 2 Messalonskee of Oakland (6-4, 51.5), No. 3 Cony of Augusta (4-6, 43.5), No. 4 Brewer (4-6, 40.5), No. 5 Bangor (3-7, 32) and No. 6 Lawrence of Fairfield (2-8, 28).

Class A South: No. 1 Mount Ararat (10-0, 83 points), No. 2 Edward Little of Auburn (8-2, 69.5), No. 3 Lewiston (7-3, 52.5), No. 4 Camden Hills (6-4, 51), No. 5 Leavitt (6-4, 46) and No. 6 Brunswick (2-8, 21.5).

Class B North: No. 1 Gardiner (10-0, 75 points), No. 2 Waterville (6-4, 52.5), No. 3 Nokomis of Newport (5-5, 52), No. 4 Erskine Academy of South China (5-5, 43), No. 5 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (4-6, 45.5) and No. 6 Maranacook of Readfield (0-10, 4).

Class B South: No. 1 Morse of Bath (10-0, 75.5), No. 2 Oceanside (6-4, 57.5), No. 3 Medomak Valley (6-4, 53), No. 4 Lincoln Academy (4-6, 40), No. 5 Belfast (4-6, 38) and No. 6 Mount View (0-10, 6).

The league shootout, for championship matches for the final four teams — two for Class A and two for Class B — will be on Thursday, Sept. 27 on the front nine holes at the Rockland Golf Club.

The league's state team and individual qualifier will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. on the Arrowhead Course at the Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.

The state team championships will be on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. on the Tomahawk Course at Natanis.

The state individual schoolboy and schoolgirl championships will be on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. back at Natanis.

Additionally, the Windjammers finished regular-season matches on Wednesday, Sept. 19 against Mount Ararat of Topsham, as they lost 8.5-0.5 in a road match.

Class A: No. 4 Camden Hills 6.5, No. 5 Leavitt 2.5

At Samoset Resort Golf Club in Rockport Sept. 20 in a playoff match, the Windjammers sailed to victory. Camden Hills finished with a low nine-hole, four-golfer stroke total of 170 to 185 for Leavitt.

The individual results, with Windjammer golfers listed first, were: Cole Anderson (35) beat Ruby Haylock (38); Parker Hilchey (43) beat Eli Lind (48); Jonathan Mahoney (43) beat Morghan Dultil (47); Drew Minery (49) lost to Steven Parshall (52); Nate Johnson (51) lost to Hayden Pellitier (52); and Shiyan Kesser (55) halved with Rebekah Davis (53).

In an exhibition, Eben Fagonde (60) lost to Lucas Mortensen (52).

Anderson earned medalist honors at 35.

Class B: No. 3 Medomak Valley 9, No. 6 Mount View 0

At Rockland Golf Club Sept. 20 in a playoff match, the Panthers stalked to victory. Medomak Valley finished with a low nine-hole, four-golfer stroke total of 194 to 277 for Mount View.

The individual results, with Panther golfers listed first, were: Carson Murphy (45) beat Orla Foley (74); Sean Sebrey (42) beat John Clifford (63); Leighton Winslow (53) beat Chase Roberts (72); Merritt Gould (54) beat Josh Campbell (68); Garret Hutchins (59) beat Shawn VonOesen (81); and Adam Berry (62) beat Niamh Foley (75).

Sebrey was the medalist at 42.

Class B: No. 4, Lincoln Academy 6, No. 5 Belfast 3

At Wawenock Golf Club in Walpole Sept. 20 in a playoff match, the Eagles caged the Lions. Lincoln Academy finished with a low, nine-hole, four-golfer stroke total of 200 to 214 for Belfast. The teams split the six individual matches, while the Eagles won with a lower team stroke total.

The individual results, with Lion golfers listed first, were: Tommy Walker beat Quincy Perry, 4+3; Ryan Fitzjurls beat Ava Morse, 1-up; Anthime Brunette lost to Aden McCullen 4+3; Daniel Groening lost to Dawson Gallagher, 4+3; and Chance Clark beat Will Farrell, 3+2. The Lions forfeited the final match to the Eagles.

Walker earned medalist honors at 42.

Regular season

Mount Ararat 8.5, Camden Hills 0.5

At Highland Green Golf Club in Topsham Sept. 19, the Eagles swooped away with the victory in the final regular-season match. Mount Ararat finished with a low, nine-hole four-golfer stroke total of 159 to 170 for Camden Hills.

The individual results, with Windjammer golfers listed first, were: Cole Anderson (34) halved with Caleb Manual (34); Parker Hilchey (49) lost to Cade Charra (41); Jonathan Mahoney (41) lost to Will Kavanough (42); Drew Minery (49) lost to Ben Hickson (45); Nate Johnson (52) lost to Ty Henkey (48); and Shiyan Kesser lost to Eli Schsenbury (42).

Anderson and Manual co-medalists at 34.
