I hope everyone had a nice week. I think summer has come to an end. The evenings have started to be chilly. It sure makes it nice sleeping weather. It seems nice not to have to run the air conditioners all the time. Enjoy this nice fall weather, because we all know what comes after that.

Mount View

The Mount View boys’ soccer team has been doing well. They have been mentioned on the 10 p.m. Fox News a couple different times. This past Thursday night the MV football team played against Orono under the lights at the Larrabee Field in Knox. During the day on Thursday, Tim Throckmorton was at the Knox field telling about the upcoming game. He also interviewed some of the players. They were so excited to be playing under the lights.

It is too bad that Mount View doesn't have lights to play under for their football field. Mount View ended up winning the game against Orono. Friday morning Polly saw the results of the game on the Channel 5 news. She said that Ben and Buster (Clayton's Belgians) were right up next to the fence watching, too. Great job, Mount View football!

I would like to send my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Bruce Thompson who recently passed away. Bruce is the son of Clifford and Marlene, and the brother to Brian and Rochelle.

Bruce and Brian and my boys Johnny and Jeff did some of the same things together as they were quite close in age. They sang in the choir at the Jackson Church, they participated in Mount View activities, and if I remember correctly, they did bow and arrow shooting competitions. May you rest in peace, Bruce.

The Common Fair is taking place this weekend. They are estimating over 6,000 people to attend. On Friday, Robert had to go to Unity; he said the traffic was unbelievable.

Congratulations to Thelma Kenney for receiving the top player award in the 8-ball league session this summer at NEC in Newport. Also to Deb Reynolds’ team for winning second place.

Have a nice week. Please give me a call with any news you would like to share. 722-3450.
