Good Evening All,

For some unknown reason I have not had an email for a couple of days, and just now said temp fix and finally got on here. Sorry, to be late.

Congrats on the newborn

Congratulations to big sisters, Annabelle and Charlotte, on the birth of their sister, Ophelia Alexandra Rakis. Parents Haley Hitchcock and Yanni Rakis. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 inches long. She was born Sept. 21 at 12:09 a.m. Two happy little girls, I am sure, too.

Birthday

A happy, happy birthday to Eric Braley on Sept. 29. May you have many more. Go Mustangs with your football team No. 42!

Fall

Well they tell me it is officially fall now. The winds blowing, cooler temps, and seems just perfect outside now. A welcome relief from the humidity.

Common Ground Fair

The fair is on this weekend now as I type this. Friday got some rain, but never dampened the crowds as I hear. Saturday was perfect, and Sunday seems to be a good day coming. I may decide to go after all.

Bears in the County

Yep, people have seen bears. Not any here that I know of. They can keep on moving .

Moose hunt

It is that time for the Moose hunt starting on Monday, Sept. 24. Good luck to those getting a permit.

Sympathy

Our condolences to the family of Clement Blakney, who died from a tragic accident in Unity. He with wife Jeri owned the Younity Winery on Route 202/9. His little granddaughter Zoe was injured as well, and is to make a recovery. Prayers she will be well soon. His celebration of life is Sept. 29.

Busy…calendar time

This column is short tonight. I have been busy and with no email got all mixed up with many things I do. We are still looking for pictures for the 2019 Knox Historical Calendar. Mary Ellen will be doing the ads this year, she has said.

Our town's 200 years

Bicentennial Committee Meetings are usually Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Knox Town Office. We need all to help make this a celebration next year, for 2019. Plans are underway, but we need any ideas and any help. Only a few people cannot make this work. So please step up and come to the meetings. Give us some input at the very least. Thanks!

Fuel assistance, holiday boxes

Waldo CAP is making appointments for people who need help with fuel for this coming year. Call 1-800-498-3025 or 338-4025. It is that time of year again. Also, all people needing holiday boxes will be getting an application in the mail, I believe. Thanksgiving applications due Nov. 2, and Christmas due Dec. 10. So make it before those deadlines. I understand these programs help many people.

Fall Auxiliary and Legion Conference

It was held at Bath Post 21 this weekend. A good time was had by all. I saw a video on Facebook of the USO Talent Show the ladies and few gents did. It was awesome. Our theme this year is Celebrating Female Veterans, We Dare To Care, Because They Matter! I could not go.

Until next week,

Take care all, and enjoy our fall. Apples, squash of all kinds, garlic, peppers and tomatoes, and other veggies still available. Yum. Be safe. Another week winding down. Certainly enjoy the weather.
