Fuel assistance

Anyone needing help with heating assistance can call for an appointment at 1-800-498-3025 or 338-3025. I think I had the wrong number last week. I believe a phone call is going to be necessary from a HEAP rep to make out the application.

Such pretty leaves now as the trees are turning colors. It is so very pretty. Take a ride if you can and see the sights out there.

I rode over to the Cornforth Fields and checked on the spring, and lo and behold the beaver dam is back there, and flooding the spring where people get spring water, but now it is under water. What a shame.

Of course, long ago someone damaged the pipe the water ran out of, and ruined the spot anyway. Sad to see it. People were target practicing in the back field.

In Belfast

Joyce Thompson and I attended the wake for Alice Orff at Riposta's Thursday evening. She is going to be missed. She was always busy doing something at the farm she shared with her husband Don. They had gardens, strawberries, and always worked very hard together. Rest in peace to Alice.

Corn is gone

Noticing that the farmers have been cutting their corn crops. I know what that means, it is not too far behind now for winter. Keep warm, everyone, as the temps are falling.

Knox Historical Society news

We are working on the Knox Historical Society Calendar 2019 to get the pictures for this. Mary Ellen is doing the ads for this. The folks are working on the bicentennial town info for a booklet. Need info on families and pictures if you have any we can use. Need more people to help out on this. Vickie and Ken are helping as well as Myrna, Joyce and Clayton.

Until next week,

I hope you all are enjoying the pretty colored leaves out there. Have a great week, everyone. Stay safe!
