All five Midcoast high school football squads are playoff-bound. Which means Medomak Valley of Waldoboro, Oceanside of Rockland, Mount View of Thorndike, Camden Hills of Rockport and Belfast will experience postseason action this fall.

In Class C North, Medomak Valley (4-4, 70.3125 points) finished fifth, Oceanside (3-5, 45.3125 points) seventh and Belfast (2-6, 37.5000 points) eighth. Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (7-1, 218.7500 points) finished first in the 11-team region. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs, thus, the Panthers, Mariners and Lions are playoff-bound and will be on the road in quarterfinal contests.

The No. 5 Panthers will play at No. 4 Nokomis of Newport (4-4) on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. The Panthers and Warriors did not play each other during the regular season.

The No. 7 Mariners will play at No. 2 Hermon (7-1) on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. It will be the second time in two weeks the Mariners and Hawks will square off as Hermon edged Oceanside 23-22 on Oct. 19 in a regular-season finale in Rockland.

The No. 8 Lions will play at No. 1 MCI on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in Pittsfield. The Lions and Huskies did not play each other during the regular season.

In Class D North, Mount View (4-4, 38.7500 points) finished sixth. Foxcroft Academy of Dover-Foxcroft (8-0, 200.0000 points) finished first in the 10-team region. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs, thus, the Mustangs are playoff-bound.

The No. 6 Mustangs will play at No. 3 Mattanawcook/Lee/Penobscot (6-2), likely on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. The Mustangs fell to Mattanawcook/Lee Penobscot 43-13 Sept. 7 in Lincoln.

In Class E, Camden Hills (4-4, 46.5625 points) finished fourth. Freeport (7-1, 118.4375 points) finished first in the nine-team region. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs, thus, the Windjammers are playoff-bound.

The No. 4 Windjammers will host No. 5 Old Orchard Beach (4-4) on Monday, Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m. The Seagulls beat the Windjammers 26-20 in triple-overtime on Oct. 6 in Old Orchard Beach.
