The World Series has ended, as the Boston Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Recently, the Courier Publications/VillageSoup sports poll asked readers how the World Series would be decided, and the majority thought the Sox would win in five games, which is what happened.

Forty-three percent of voters thought Boston would win the World Series in five games, while another 36 percent believed the Sox would win in six games. Twenty-one percent thought Boston will sweep the series.

No voter thought the Dodgers would win the World Series.

This week with Halloween on tap on Wednesday, the sports poll will shift away from sports, and ask readers what their favorite Halloween candy is.
