The community center will be holding a children’s Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 8, from noon to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, caroling, toys for all and an appearance by Santa. There will be a free store for kids to pick out gifts for their family and volunteers to help them with free gift wrapping. Donations and volunteers still needed. Call Linda Gamble, 567-3615.

Nomination papers are available for one selectman position and one position for road commissioner. Papers are due back at the office by close of business Jan. 29, 2019. There is a requirement for signatures of 25 registered Prospect voters to get on the ballot for the town election in March.

The Waldo County Humane Society will hold a rabies clinic Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Burnham Municipal Building, 247 Horseback Road, from 9 to 11 a.m., free for Waldo county residents, donations accepted. Dog tags are available for 2019. Registrations should be done by the end of December. The $25 late fee starts Feb. 1.

The Down East Family YMCA in Ellsworth is free to all Prospect residents on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. The Bucksport facility is free for Prospect emergency workers only. The Bucksport YMCA hours are Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon.
