Santa's Snowbird Express premieres Friday, Nov. 23, for the annual elf roundup. The trains leave the Unity station Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, plus the entire week prior to Christmas, 11 a.m. (with lunch), 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Lunch includes soup, sandwiches, mulled cider and treats; menu available at thorndikemill.org. Two-hour trip includes a 40-minute visit to historic Farwell's Mill. Dress for the outdoors; spaces are heated but drafty. Details/reservations at Belfastandmooseheadlakerail.org.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, 4 to 5 p.m., The Mount View Chamber Singers will present Carols in the Round at the Unity United Methodist Church, 13 Depot St., Unity. This will be the 28th annual candlelit a capella holiday concert tour. Free/donations.

Merry and Bright, Thorndike, will be back Saturday, Dec. 1, 5 p.m., hosted by the Community Voices of Thorndike, at the McKay Research Station.

Be sure to take a ride on the Snowbird Express and check out the Mount View Holiday Craft Fair before and the Unity Festival of Lights afterward. There will be a lot going on that day. Plan a day in the country.

The Thorndike Congregational Church will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
