Hello All,

It has been a pretty nice weekend with the temps higher up there on the thermometer, and I like that. In the 40s today, melting out there, too.

We still have snow, as I have been asked by others if we still do. Yep, the ground is snow-covered. In some other areas all rain, and bare ground. I'll take the snow.

The snow on the ice is not good, as several friends have taken some bad falls. Feel better to those people. Happy birthday if you are observing one. If you have been ill, get well soon.

Newborn arrives

Connor Wordell-Rand and Scott Raven welcomed their baby girl, Ashtyn Belle, on Dec. 15 at 8:17 a.m., weighing 6 lb.11oz. and 19 3/4 inches long. Congratulations to the parents and family.

Calendars for 2019

The Knox Historical Society Calendars have arrived, and can be found at Knox Town Office, and Ingraham Equipment. Joyce Thompson and (myself)  Rita Doughty have some,  they are $10 each and for another $3 we can mail you one or however many you would like. It is a yearly fundraiser. Thanks!

Wreaths Across America

The convoy of trucks, police and all, stopped at Mount View High School on Sunday on their way south for the Arlington Wreaths Across America Day.  The event was this past Saturday. An awesome sight to see, and be a part of. Thanks to all who planned this.

In Unity Wreaths Across America

On Saturday the 15th, veterans, law enforcement and state police, firefighters, VFW Belfast color guard, and others displayed a line of flags at the School Street Cemetery. Wreaths for each branch of the service, Gold Star parents, POW/MIA were posted and displayed.

An awe-inspiring event. Thanks to all who participated and those who planned this second annual event. Afterwards refreshments were served, and a silent auction held at the Unity Community Center.

Wreaths Across America Nationwide

A total of 1.7 million wreaths went to 1,640 locations that held ceremonies across the U.S. on Saturday, Dec. 15. This is the first year for overseas that permission was granted to place wreaths at Normandy to honor those that died during WWII D-Day invasion. President Trump attended at Arlington.

Birthday party

"50 and Fabulous" for Laura Doughty, at her surprise birthday party Friday night at Cancun Restaurant in Waterville. Several from the area attended. A fun time was had by all. Many snacks, and birthday cake.
