The Belfast wrestling team hit the road on Wednesday, Dec. 19 to take on the host Skowhegan Indians and also visiting Erskine Academy Eagles of South China, as the Lions finished 1-1 in dual-matches on the night.

The Lions earned a 66-18 win over the Indians and lost 53-30 to the Eagles.

The individual Belfast results, with Lions listed first, were:

106 pounds — Connor Fournier lost to Kristin Ray, EA; and pinned Emma Shaw, Skow.

113 pounds — Gabe Bruns was pinned by Jake Emond, EA; and won by forfeit over Skowhegan.

120 pounds — Timothy Smith pinned Nate Farrar, EA; and won by forfeit over Skowhegan.

138 pounds — Jonah Lovejoy won by forfeit over Erskine Academy; and pinned Rachel Tuck, Skow.

145 pounds — Chris Fournier pinned Austin Jay, EA; and won by forfeit over Skowhegan.

152 pounds — Asa Hayes was pinned by William Bourque, EA; and won by forfeit over Skowhegan.
