The results are in for the latest Courier Publications/VillageSoup sports poll, and the majority of voters believe the Medomak Valley will have the most successful season among Midcoast high school girls basketball squads.

As of Jan. 3, the Panthers held a 6-1 record in Class A North.

Forty-nine percent of voters believe Medomak Valley will have the most successful season among eight Midcoast girls hoops teams, while 22 percent of voters chose Oceanside. Camden Hills tallied 11 percent of the vote, with Mount View garnering nine percent, Vinalhaven four percent, Belfast and Searsport two percent, while North Haven did not receive a vote.

Islesboro was not included in the poll because the Eagles do not field a team this season.

The Panthers have the best record of all the Midcoast squads, as of Jan. 3, at 6-1, while Oceanside sits at 3-5 in Class B North, Camden Hills 2-5 in Class A North, Mount View 1-5 in Class B North, Vinalhaven 1-7 in Class D South, Belfast 0-7 in Class B North, Searsport 5-2 in Class C North and North Haven 0-6 in Class D South.

Options include the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears.
