The Belfast wrestling team hit the mat on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for a midweek home high school tri-meet.

The Lions hosted Mount Ararat/Brunswick of Topsham and Nokomis of Newport, and fell to Mount Ararat/Brunswick 60-18, while they pinned down a win against the Warriors 45-24.

The individual Belfast results, with Lion wrestlers listed first, were:

113 pounds — Gabe Bruns was pinned by Brycen Kowalsky, MtA; and pinned Kyle Harris, Nok.

120 pounds — Timothy Smith won by forfeit over MtA; and was pinned by Calvin Peck, Nok.

138 pounds — Ryan Peavey was pinned by Caden Kowalsky, MtA; and won by forfeit over Nokomis.

145 pounds — Jonah Lovejoy was pinned by Ben Laurence, MtA.

Isaac Ham won by forfeit over Nokomis.

152 pounds — Francesco Martin was pinned by Kyle Graffam, MtA; and beat Madeline Tardif, Nok.

160 pounds — Elijah Charbonnier was pinned by Cody Holman, MtA; and pinned Michael Gagne, Nok.

170 pounds — Nathaniel Porter was pinned by Isaac Ducatt, MtA; and won by forfeit over Nokomis.

182 pounds — Jason Norwood was pinned by Mason Hultman, MtA; and won by forfeit over Nokomis.

220 pounds — Cameron Watts pinned Alex Beal, MtA; and pinned Nicholas Lincoln, Nok.
