Freedom's No. 7 truck with plow is a beauty! Repair work and paint job done by Travis Price, director of Public Works, and Mike Bailey. Thank you, guys, for all your hard work!

It was christened on Jan. 15 on the Town Office property by Marilyn Perry. Those on the sidelines were Travis Price and Selectmen Ron Price and Steve Bennett. May she have a long life and serve us well. More pictures can be seen on my Facebook page.

Winterfest

The Freedom Community Historical Society will be holding their fourth annual "Winterfest."

Please make every attempt to attend and participate in the planning and helping with this great community event Saturday, Feb. 2. Activities will begin at the Springvale Farm located across the street from the Town Office at 11 a.m., warming up, food, snacks and hot drinks can be purchased at Town Office, compliments of the Freedom Rec. Committee.

Community Potluck at the Grange Hall beginning at 4:30 p.m. (all donations will be greatly appreciated), followed by the famous Freedom Follies at 6 p.m. The cost is $7.50 per person and $20 for a family.

Hopefully Paul Flynn will continue his vital role as overall coordinator, if all of us can pitch in and assist with various jobs. All events will be held on the property of Springvale Farm. As a special treat, there will be an ice harvesting demonstration starting at 3 p.m.

Please invite others in the community outside FCHS to come and participate. We want it to be a real community event.

MLK Day closure

On Monday, Jan. 21, the Town Office will be closed due to the Martin L. King Jr. holiday. It will reopen on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Recyclables

The recyclables will be collected on Friday (the last Friday of the month), Jan. 25.  Please

have your recyclables out at curbside by 7 a.m. All cardboard must be protected from the rain/snow. Wet papers or cardboard will not be picked up.

Voice of Freedom

Get well wishes go out to Drew Fales who suffered a stroke and is in rehab at Harbor Hill, Room 103, in Belfast. Thoughts and prayers continue. It would be nice if those that know Drew would send him a get well card. I know he would appreciate hearing from you.

Happy birthday to Abbey McDonald who celebrated her special day with her family. Wishing you many more happy and healthy years, Abbey!

Until next week, stay warm, stay safe, be kind to your neighbor and God bless!
