Due to scheduling conflicts, the public hearing for the Mining Ordinance that was set for Feb. 26 has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. The Community Center will be the location for this event.

The next selectmen’s meetings will be Tuesdays, March 5 and March 19, at 7 p.m. Planning Board will meet Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m.  Our annual town election will be held in the Town Office building Friday, March 29, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Candidates for one selectman and one road commissioner will be voted on. The following day, Saturday, March 30, at 9 a.m. will be our annual town meeting and we will have a vote at this meeting on the Mining Ordinance.

I still have a pile of some nice brightly colored hats and mittens for free at the Town Office, compliments of residents Linda Gamble and Kathy Anderson. Get them while it’s cold!

We are currently seeking two volunteers to serve on our Appeals Board. Unfortunately, one of our board members has resigned as she will be moving out of town. We will miss you, Rogena Whalen, and thank you for all you have done! Much luck down South.

If you would like to volunteer for the Appeals Board, stop by the office and we will submit your name to the Board of Selectmen. The Appeals Board meets once a year.

Any who wish to submit information to be announced in the Prospect news column, please email me at or stop by the office during business hours.
