Deepest sympathy goes to the family of Norma Littlefield who passed away on Saturday, March 16. Norma lived in Morrill for a very long time before moving to a smaller home in Belfast.

Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Smitty (Lawrence) Smith on Saturday, March 16. His wife is Janie Smith.

We are going to miss you both dearly. I've know both of them all my life; I'm surely going to miss seeing you both in town.

Town meeting

March 16th was the town meeting. They had a really good turnout. State Rep. Stanley Paige Zeigler Jr. was at the meeting and he spoke to everyone for a little while and he had papers for unclaimed property and money that might be coming to you. If you would like to find out if you have unclaimed money or property, go to maine.gov/upsearch.

Also state Sen. Erin Herbig came to pass out a list of bills she is putting in as Legislative Priorities 2019. Here are the bills she is trying to get passed:

– Expanding high-speed internet in Waldo County and across rural Maine.

– Providing local training for local jobs.

– Supporting first responders and veterans.

– Promoting small town tourism.

If you would like to speak to her or email her, here is her info: 287-1515 or Erin.Herbig@legislature.Maine.gov.

Her website is mainesenate.org.

School Registration

It's time again for 4-year-old children living in the Regional School Unit 71 district to be registered for pre-K. If your child will be 4 before Oct. 15, you need to register them. To register, call Kay Dodd at 342-5200 or 342-5300 for children who will attend the Gladys Weymouth School living in the towns of Belmont, Morrill and Searsmont.

How are you all liking this Daylight Saving Time with the longer light out and this nice warmer weather we are having? I know I'm loving it and enjoying it.

Happy spring to you all. Everyone have an awesome week and have lots of fun on the weekend.

Love to hear from you all about birthdays, deaths, gatherings, etc. Please just email me and I'll put in the paper for you.
