A real firecracker born July 4, 1924, on Reedy Creek, W.V., died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2019. Bob was a World War II veteran, went to school in the GI Bill and received a PhD in chemistry from Perdue University.

He was a former resident of Penobscot Shores and an avid gardner, fisherman, canoeist, camper and hiker.

He was predeceased by his wife Betty Davidson Harvey of Belfast in 2008.

Bob is survived by his wife Gerry Barnard of Northport; son R. Davidson Harvey of Belfast; daughter Rebecca Steele of Hawaii; sisters Donna Harvey Cook and Karen Harvey Kelsay of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services to be held Monday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Belfast United Methodist Church on MIll Road.
