I would like to start off my column with an apology to all who were affected by the unexpected office closure on March 21 and 22. The flu didn’t last very long but was very debilitating. Jill and I are back up and running at normal speed now. Thank you to all who wished us well.

Town elections took place March 29. Joe Rego won the spot for selectman and Elwin Boynton won for road commissioner in a very close race with Harland Gamble. Congratulations to all who won. Town meeting was March 30 where we gave a farewell to longtime Selectman Diane Terry. Diane has been with the town since 1977 and will be a missed asset to our team. We wish her all the best in her retirement! At the town meeting the Mining Ordinance was voted on by secret paper ballot. It passed with 44 in favor and 11 opposed.

I would like to thank Denise Norman for joining the Appeals Board. We still are looking for one more member. Interested people should contact the Town Office for more information, 567-3661.
