It rained a bit, the infield grass was a soaky in spots and it was, with the wind, cool, but that did not deter Belfast and Searsport track-and-field athletes from starting their high school spring season with top times, heights and distances.

Belfast squads finished second to the Orono girls and Brewer boys, respectively, in the first meet of the campaign (an initial first one hosted by the Lions was postponed).

Lions roared to first places in a number of individual and relay events. Junne Robertson-McIntire finished first in the 200 meters, Lia Frazee in the high jump, Andrew Akles in the 400 meters, Max Lewis in the high jump and Miles Cannon in the 3,200 meters, as well as Lindsay Bruns, Lillie Mitchell, Lilly Robbins and Junne Robertson-McIntire in the 4×400-meter relay.
