Ever wonder what is behind the walls of the oversized green barn structure on Route 3 in Belmont? All kinds of boats wrapped in white plastic surround the building, and even a red caboose can be seen on stilts.

Belmont Boatworks opened its doors on Wednesday for a Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce "Business After Hours" event, giving visitors a chance to tour the facility, ask questions and mingle with other business professionals in the community.

According to the company website, Belmont Boatworks is a "full-service boatyard"  just a few miles from Belfast Bay. The company was founded in 2012 by Dan Miller on the principles of providing "affordable transportation, storage, maintenance and keeping the waterfront accessible to all."

Services include everything from annual maintenance, hauling and storage, to complete cosmetic and structural refits, along with new construction on sailboats, powerboats and floats.

Different Chamber members host After Hours events monthly. The events are free and open to the public. Visit belfastmaine.org/2019-belfast-business-after-hours-hosts/ for a schedule of upcoming host businesses.
