The Goose River Golf Club is ready to say, “Come, play,” when the club opens for the season on Saturday, May 4.

Initially, the course will be open for walking only, with riding carts added at a later date once the course boasts dryer conditions.

Alex Plummer, head golf professional at the club, reports the maintenance crew, headed by superintendent Kelley Macomber, has been hard at work to ready the course for play while Plummer monitors the weather.

“Unfortunately, the unfavorable [spring] weather conditions have set us back a bit, but we’re ready to go," Plummer said.

The popular Goose River practice range, across the street from the course, opened on Tuesday, April 30.

“I’m very much looking forward to this year’s golf season,” said Plummer, “and welcoming our returning members, new members and valued guests.”

Spring rates are $15 for nine holes walking and $25 for 18 holes walking. Cart fees will be $12 for nine holes and $18 for 18 holes. The course is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
