I have a good number of upcoming events to report for this column, but before I start listing them off I want to update everyone, we do in fact have a new front door! This one has a crash bar on the inside, which makes it easier to go out, but it seems to have a problem with shutting as we have yet to have Mr. Dakin come and install the top closer arm.

The next selectmen’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. I have a correction from my previous column: the Regional School Unit 25 budget meeting will be Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m., not the following Thursday. Jill will be outside the Bucksport Middle School auditorium to check in voters. All residents are welcome to attend.

On June 1 Prospect will have its annual Spring Cleanup Day. Pinkerton’s Disposal will be picking up at 7 a.m. Please have your stuff road side beforehand. For a complete list of acceptable, items please contact the Town Office, 567-3661. As far as I know, tires are not acceptable for the Spring Clean pickup.

Tuesday, June 4, at 7 p.m. will be the first selectmen’s meeting for that month. Planning Board is scheduled to meet on Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m.

The next Community Supper will take place on Saturday, June 8, 4 to 6 p.m. Linda has three glass pie plates and one metal pie plate with no names on them at the Community Center, left over from a previous supper. If you are missing your plate, call Linda Gamble, 567-3615.

Tuesday, June 11, will be the RSU 25 budget election. We will not have any state or federal ballots for this election. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Office. Typically, the RSU ballot is a simple yes to accept or no to decline. For more information on the school’s finances, we encourage all to attend the budget meeting as mentioned above.

2019 ATV stickers are available. The fee has increased to $45. If you have not registered your ATV yet, please come see me! I have 2019 motorcycle stickers available, as well.

Jill will be sending out 30-day notices for 2018 taxes. If you have not paid your 2018 tax bill, you should do so soon!

If we do not see you in the office by the end of the month, Jill and I would like to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day.
