James "Jimmy" Bryant moved on to Heaven May 8, 2019. He was born March 15, 1966, to Francis Bradstreet Bryant and Wilfred Bryant.

He was predeceased by both of his parents, Francis and Wilfred of South Freedom and Belfast; a sister Darline Leathers Damon; brother-in-law Richard Peppard; and nephew Ricky Peppard of Pittsfield.

James is survived by his wife, Diane Bryant; his sisters Charlene Peppard of Pittsfield and her family, and Roxanne Philbrick and husband Mike of Knox and their family; brother Herbert Bryant and his family of Belfast, and his extended family: the city of Belfast, Mom and Dad Beth and Tom Benner and their family of Swanville.

James was a happy-go-lucky, fun-loving guy. He loved his time with his friend, Elaine Kief who took him around picking up bottles. He loved to visit the farm, talking tractors and teasing Mike. He loved to work, especially outside, collecting bottles and socializing with the people and businesses in town. He was nicknamed the unofficial mayor of Belfast.

James loved watching the races on TV and going to them as well. He played in the Leaky Boot Band and was also in the "We Are Happy" video in Belfast.

James will be remembered as a great friend and happy-go-lucky guy who loved to joke around and laugh.

Beth, Tom and James had a friendly competition each night trying to be the first person to solve the puzzle on Wheel of Fortune. He loved big trucks since he was a baby and truly enjoyed looking through papers and truck books, trying to find just the perfect new truck for Tom. He and Beth loved joking around together.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m Monday, May 20, at Belfast United Methodist Church on Mill Lane with Pastor Jinwoo Chun officiating. James will be put to rest with his parents at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Freedom.

Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
