It's the end of May and the lilacs have yet to blossom. I finally made it to the greenhouse yesterday and they were saying even greenhouse flowers are behind this year. I have a small greenhouse with seedlings; I think they'll remain there for awhile.

Bailey Road is now open. Sorry for the delay, but we wanted to have it done well. We had a bigger culvert put in with more crushed stone and filter fabric to stop the erosion. Thank you for your patience.

The annual gardening class was a success! About 50 people attended and went home with bags of seeds, seed potatoes, vegetable seedlings, and the knowledge to grow food for their families and neighbors! Thanks to Reny's, Mac's Hardware, and Johnny's Selected Seeds for seed and potato donations and thanks to VRFP volunteers for seedling donations and coordinating and presenting this event.

Reminder: There will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser held at the Volunteer Regional Food Pantry on Saturday, June 1, from 7 to 10 a.m. Adults $5, children $3.
