Lincolnville Beach was packed with locals and tourists for the town's Fourth of July Beach Blast celebration that featured a live band, grilling, fireworks and a bonfire on a warm summer day in Maine.

People stayed cool on the beach all day, wearing star-spangled bathing suits, towels and miniature flags. The Lobster Pound Restaurant sold burgers and hot dogs grilled by the beach as The Midnight Riders played from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Sue Ferra sailed from Tenants Harbor for music and fireworks on the beach with her family. It sounded like the most fun place to spend the Fourth of July, she said.

Low tide created picturesque views of people wading in the horizon. Children dug in the sand and chased each other with sparklers as dusk settled. After much anticipation, colorful fireworks filled the night sky as people cheered.

The night ended with people huddled around a bonfire on the beach with loved ones while listening to the last few songs played by The Midnight Riders.
