The following is news from the Country View Golf Club:

On Thursday, July 25, in the women's league weekly scramble, first went to the team of Donna Nason, Jean Raven, Nancy Carney and Donna Short with 34, while second, at 39, went to Joette Fields, Judy Arsenault, Henna Smith and Linda Potter. Pin winners were: Donna Nason, 10-7 on the fourth hole; and Jean Raven, 13-9 on the ninth.

On Friday, July 26, in Friday league play, first was Gary Snowden at +3, tied for second were Ken Hodgdon and Vince Bryant at even, and fourth was tied with Bob Lee and Jack Pike at -1. Pin winners were: Gary Snowden, 13-4 on the fourth; and John Merry, 29-5 on the ninth.

On Thursday, July 18, in the women's league weekly scramble, the team of Donna Nason, Joette Fields and Linda Potter finished first, while Donna Short, Judy Arsenault and Henna Smith placed second. The pin winners were: Donna Nason, 28-3 on the fourth hole and 17-0 on the ninth.

Golfers had fun and look to increase numbers each week. The group plays on Thursdays at 9 a.m.

On Friday, July 19, the Friday league play saw Wayne Merrifield finish first at +2, while tied for second were Mike Cunningham and John Merry at even, and fourth also was a tie with Gary Snowden and Ken Hodgdon at -2. The pin winners were: Ken Hodgdon, 29' 5 on the fourth; and John Merry, 9-5 on the ninth.

Jim Reny of the club said the Friday league continues to look for golfers. Play uses the modified Stableford handicapping for scoring. Play will continue for 15 weeks with a champion honored at the end of the season. Participation in the league includes an end-of-season dinner. All golfers are welcome to participate and can sign-up in the clubhouse.

Reny said golfers should remember to "save the date" for the annual Country View Scramble on Saturday, Sept. 7. "Always a fun day of golfing with lots of prizes and great food," he said.

The summer clubhouse hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
