Freedom Rec.

Special thanks to ALL that worked so hard to make this August parade event a success. There were many activities after the parade was over and something for everyone. There are only a handful of girls that put everything they have into doing what needs to be done. Lots of behind-the-scenes that one does not know about. But they do the best they can with what they have and get the job done. We do this for the children.

All events that we put on during the course of the year are free and we consider them a community event to bring the people together to have a good time. When we get shorthanded with help from our members, nonmembers of the Rec. Committee pull together and give a helping hand, which is so appreciated.

If you would be interested in joining our group, contact Cindy Abbott at the Town Office and she can make it happen.

No dues involved, a meeting once a month and plans for the events are discussed.

Special thanks go out to all who attended the parade, or had anything to do with this event, for it is because of you that it was a success.

In addition, I would like to acknowledge the great reporting of the event and pictures by Fran Gonzalez that appeared in The Republican Journal. I believe this was one assignment that Fran really enjoyed.

Last but not least, the theme of “Disney Land in Freedom” covered those of all ages! Super job well done to the committee and the friends and family that helped.

Unfortunately I missed being at this event due to being out of state for the weekend, but I got a good feel for what it was like from the many pictures that were taken by Alyssa Bruger and Erna Keller and all the positive comments that I heard. You can find the pictures posted throughout Facebook.

Now we will have to think of a theme for next year. Can you think of one that would be as good or that can top the parade of 2019? If you have any suggestions, you can contact me and the committee will take it into consideration.
