On Tuesday, Sept. 3, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the selectmen will be held in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

On Monday, Sept. 9, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board will hold its monthly meeting in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m., pianist Sean Fleming and his group Dam 'Rag Scottas return to Searsport’s First Congregational Church. If you were fortunate enough to hear Sean Fleming and the Red Hot Peppers last September, you won’t want to miss the Dam 'Rag Scottas this year. This sought-after group will play many toe-tapping favorites, including the works of Scott Joplin, Comfrey, Scott, and Jelly Roll Morton. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will support the music program at The First Congregational Church. The Searsport Information Center is now open for the rest of the summer.

Next year, the state of Maine will celebrate 200 years. A special Dirigo Flag (3 feet by 5 feet) has been produced to celebrate this occasion. As a flag retail store, I have secured a large number of these flags and will have them available to people/businesses wanting them.
