The Mount View football team took to the road on Friday, Sept. 13 to face Foxcroft Academy in a high school clash that saw the Mustangs get on the scoreboard for the first time this season.

However, the host Ponies got there early — and often — as the Mustang defense gave up over 40 points for the second straight week and came up on the short end of a 48-12 loss at Oakes Field.

Brady Moulton had 145 yards through the air at quarterback for the Mustangs.

Garrett Smith scored both touchdowns for Mount View, one in the second quarter with 10:11 to play and the second as time expired in the contest. Smith had 105 receiving yards for the Mustangs, while Mark Ward had 30 and Joe LePore 10.

Ward (60 yards), Moulton (41 yards), Smith (39 yards) and LePore (10 yards) had yards on the ground for the ‘Stangs.

Leading the Mount View defense were Gabrial Gagnon (2 solo tackles, 4 assisted tacklees, 2 quarterback sacks), Hayden Hunt (solo, 4 assists), Jacob Nelson (4 solos, 2 assists, forced fumble), Mark Ward (6 solos, 2 assists, fumble recovery, sack), Joe Lepore (solo, assist), Colby Ingraham (solo, assist), Oliver Brown (solo, 2 assists), Zach Ward (2 assists), Kaiden Doughty (2 assists), Michael Cole (solo, 2 assists, forced fumble), Kyle Ingraham (solo), Eric Braley (assist, sack), Landon Fletcher (assist), Sam Valleau (4 assists, interception) and Garrett Dunton (solo).

Logan Martin had four touchdowns in the win for the Ponies, while Luke Stedman added one TD and booted four extra points. Jesse Drury and Lucas Ames also found the end zone for the hosts.

Caden Crocker and Noah Lamb had fumble recoveries for Foxcroft Academy and Logan Martin one interception.
