The following is news from the Country View Golf Club:

On Thursday, Sept. 12, in the women's league weekly scramble, first went to the team of Joette Fields, Henna Smith and Doris Cowell, while second went to Nancy Baxter, Fran White, Carol Colther and Susan Hart. The pin winner on the fourth hole (8-1) and ninth (18-7) was Donna Nason. Fun was had by participants and the group looks to increase its numbers as play is 8:30 a.m. Thursdays.

On Friday, Sept. 13, league play saw a first-place tie between Ken Hodgdon and Jack Pike at even. Third was a three-way tie with Bob Lee, Wayne Merrifield and Vince Bryant at -1. The pin winner on the fourth hole (4-3) was Vince Bryant. The group also looks for more golfers for the modified Stableford handicapping scoring event. Play will continue until the first Friday in October. All golfers are welcome.

The annual Country View Scramble for the club was Saturday, Sept. 14 and golfers had a fun day of play, camaraderie and food. First went to the team of Chris Parent, Cliff Meservey, Mike Parent and Pat Parent, while second was the team of Clarence Tripp, Greg Reid, Meghan Portes and J.R. The women's team honors went to Doris Cowell, Carol Courter and Fran White. Pin winners on the fourth (3-4) was Clarence Tripp and on the ninth (18-3) to Gary Snowden. The longest drive on the sixth hole for men was by Greg Reid and for the women Meghan Portes.

The clubhouse fall hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
