A man died as a result of being pinned under a mobile home Friday morning in an incident Police Chief Todd Boisvert called “tragic.”

Boisvert said the property owner had hired a company to move the mobile home and his son was helping crib the trailer in order to raise and move it.

The deceased is the homeowner's son, a 54-year-old Searsport resident, police said. His name is not being released at this time.

Searsport Fire Chief Andrew Webster said the call came in at 9 a.m. for a man trapped under a mobile home on Pond Road.

The man was helping to get the trailer ready to be moved, Webster said, when it shifted and fell on top of him.

“We got him out and tried CPR on him,” he said, but attempts to revive the victim failed.

The incident is being investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Stockton Springs Ambulance and Searsport fire and police crews all answered the call.
