Lucas Omar Bryant, 44, of Knox passed away at home July 24, 2020, following his long battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 13, 1976, to William and Jacqueline Bryant of Knox, where he was raised. Luke was a 1994 graduate of Mount View High School, where he played many sports and was a captain of the wrestling team. Following high school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at McGuire AFB in New Jersey working as a crew chief on KC10 aircraft.

After his enlistment, Luke went to work for the family business driving semi-trucks and later owned his own trucking business and sold firewood. He married Jolene Garvin of Jackson, his wife of 19 years. They had one child, Diesel Bryant, who was the light of his life.

Luke was a jack of all trades, known for his strong work ethic and great sense of humor. Throughout his five-year battle with cancer, he maintained an upbeat and positive attitude, living by his personal motto of “I’m not dying of cancer. I’m living with cancer.”

Luke was predeceased by his grandparents, Omar W. Bryant and Lila P. Bryant and Leo C. McKeown and Moira J. McKeown.

He is survived by Jolene and Diesel, as well as his parents, his sister Sarah, brothers Andy, Jake, Ben and a very large extended family. Luke was buried at his private family cemetery near his home in Knox.
