Gardening Volunteer Project

Waldo County Bounty, a project of Unity Barn Raisers, is a group of gardeners and farmers who are setting up sharing tables in area towns to help provide neighbors with fresh produce during the covid-19. Folks can check out their website at unitybarnraisers.org.

A table will be set up outside at the Morrill Community Building Tuesdays and Fridays. To give, gardeners with extra fresh produce can drop it off at the "Give and take table" from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in one of the coolers. Please fill out the veggie sign-in sheet if you do. Anyone who would like fresh produce can stop by and take what they need.

Gardeners with more than a table load of abundance to share can email Hannah at anatha19@gmail.com to help coordinate effort. The tables will be set up and taken down by volunteer Lisa Kusher. Lisa can also pick up produce if dropping it off is inconvenient. Her number is 322-5703.

My deepest sympathy goes out to my very dear best friend Jean Eldridge Ehman for the loss of her husband Fred Ehman. Fred passed away July 21 of a heart attack. That was such a very sad day for me because Fred was such a wonderful friend, loving, caring, etc. I will always have really great memories of all the good times I had with Fred and Jean. Fred was well known in the community as an EMT, firefighter, safety officer and just an all-around great guy. My thoughts and prayer are with you all.

There will be a celebration of his life Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Belfast Park. All are welcome and there will be light refreshments.

How are you all holding up with this very hot weather. I know I am melting away, lol, but I'm enjoy it because that white stuff will be here fast enough.
