The Town of Montville is seeking a part-time administrative assistant to assist the three-member Board of Selectmen in managing the affairs of the town. Pay is $18 per hour.

Stickers are now required for all trash taken to the transfer station. The prices have not changed. There are three different sizes: small (up to 20 gallons), $0.75; Medium (21-35 gallons), $1.50; and large (over 35 gallons), $2.25.

Residents will no longer be able to leave trash without a sticker. You can purchase stickers at the Town Office in person or send a check and have stickers mailed to you (you must order at least 10 stickers to have them mailed to you free of charge). You can also call the office and pay with a credit card (using a credit or debit card incurs an additional 2.5% fee or $1 for purchases under $50).

Finally, the Good Neighbor Committee is still hoping to get back responses to the survey sent out with tax bills. You can fill out the survey and mail it back or drop it off at the office (there is a drop box on the door). You can also go online and follow a link to the survey from the town website Please take a moment to fill out the survey!

Backpack drive

The Neighbor to Neighbor program in Liberty will be hosting a backpack drive for Walker Elementary School students. You can purchase a backpack or items that would typically go in a child's backpack and drop them off at the Liberty Fire Station drop box.

If you would like to help but would rather make a donation, checks can be made out to Liberty Engine #7. Items typically range around $20 per child. The deadline to drop off items or donations will be Wednesday, Aug. 19, with a distribution date of Sunday, Aug. 23, 8-9 a.m. Thanks in advance for your help.

That's about it for this week.
