A motorcyclist died when his bike went off the road Tuesday night on Waldo Station Road.
According to Sheriff Jeff Trafton, at approximately 11:05 p.m. Aug. 18, the Waldo County Regional Communication Center received a call about a motorcycle crash.
Responding deputies learned that Shawn Gerry, 51, of Stockton Springs, had gone off the road to the right and struck a mailbox post, coming to rest in the ditch.
Gerry died as a result of his injuries after being transported by ambulance for medical attention.
Circumstances surrounding why Gerry’s motorcycle exited the roadway remain under investigation.
