Grange fundraiser a success

The Branch Mills Grange in Palermo held a blueberry cobbler drive up Aug. 23. About 80-90 servings of cobbler were dished out, and the fundraiser was a great success! Thank you to all who supported the Grange. And (before you ask) yes, this will be an annual event.

Three separate raffles were held, and the winners (all from Palermo) were:

– Nancy Beekley – Beauty basket containing cosmetics, hand cream, facial cream and soap.

– Denise Wilcox – Blueberry basket containing blueberry coffee, syrup, honey, pancake mix, soda and all other sorts of blueberry-related items.

– Diane Bent – $25 gift certificate for Maine Variety and a hand-made face mask.

Thanks to Marylou McNeil for putting the baskets together!

Again, the Grange thanks Latham Blueberry Farm in Searsport for generously donating the blueberries for the cobbler and thanks MJEK Seafood for graciously contributing to-go containers for its transport.

Watch here in early October to find out about the Grange’s chicken and dumpling and pie drive-up event.
