There is definitely a feeling of fall in the air and as of Sept. 22, it will be the official beginning of autumn. We stopped at Hooper’s Orchard in Monroe to get our fill of apples and peaches, and have started warming up the house in the mornings with our wood stove.

Happy birthday to Miranda Riley, hope you had a good one!

There is a fundraiser happening for Addison, a local 3-year-old girl who recently underwent surgery to remove tumors from her kidney.

On Monday, Sept. 14, she had gone to the doctor’s for a normal follow-up from not feeling well. After an X-ray, they discovered a mass on her kidney and had to immediately head to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Further testing confirmed a tumor had completely taken over her left kidney, and a few other smaller tumors that were impacting her lymph nodes as well.

Her parents have two younger children and this fundraiser will help with, food, gas and medical bills. Her father is a volunteer firefighter.
