“Climate Change and the Future of Public Health” will be the topic of a Zoom presentation hosted by Belfast’s Climate Crisis Committee on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m.
Dr. Peter Millard will present, illustrating his talk with slides, with a Q & A session to follow. A Mainer, Dr. Millard practices family medicine at Seaport Community Health Center in Belfast. His background is in epidemiology.
This is the seventh in a series of Community Outreach Meetings the CCC has presented in Belfast since October 2019. The meetings have addressed many different aspects of the climate crisis, always with specific relevance to Belfast.
Unlike a pandemic, some of the public-health crises caused by climate change are slow-moving. The coronavirus pandemic hit most of us without warning; perhaps this Zoom meeting can help community members prepare for climate change impacts long-term.
