SeaHorse Stables attended their first Interscholastic Equestrian Association competition of the season on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Evenstride Farm in Newbury, Mass.

In order to limit travel and possible COVID-19 exposure, the farm hosted two shows on the same day.

The Waldo County stables' next event will be a home show, at its farm in Belfast, on Saturday, Oct. 18. That day also will include consecutive shows.

Amy Miller of SeaHorse Stables said high school equestrians Mia Rae, Nina Miller, Zoe Maltese, Sylvia Lee, Sage Pound, Ally Tardif, Allie Jones and Hannah Jones brought home the champion title (23 points) against four teams in show A, and reserve champion (16 points) in show B.

The Belfast-stables' group competed against Evenstride (Massachusetts), Green Acres (New Hampshire) and Twisdenwood (New Hampshire).

The individual placings for SeaHorse Stables' riders in the shows were:

2 feet 6 inches over fences class: Mia Rae, second and third; Sylvia Lee, third and fourth; Nina Miller, fifth and sixth; and Zoe Maltese, fourth.

2 feet over fences class: Sage Pound, second and fourth; and Ally Tardif, sixth.

Flat classes (varsity open, intermediate and novice divisions): Sylvia Lee, first and fourth; Nina Miller, third and fifth; Zoe Maltese, second and third; Sage Pound, third and fourth; and Allie Jones, third and fourth; Hannah Jones, second and fourth.

Novice over fences class: Allie Jones, second and second; and Hannah Jones, third and fifth.

SeaHorse Stables' middle school equestrians Brynn Newsom, Camille-Rose Bandy, Taylor Thomas, Heidi Goodwin and Addison Turner brought home the reserve champion (20 points) ribbon for their team for show A against Evenstride, Green Acres and Twisdenwood, and compiled 18 points for show B.

The individual placings for SeaHorse Stables' riders in the shows were:

18 over fences: Heidi Goodwin, first and fourth; Addison Turner, third and fourth; and Brynn Newsom, third and fifth.

Flat classes (novice and Intermediate divisions): Heidi Goodwin, second; Addison Turner, third and third; Brynn Newsom, third and fourth; Taylor Thomas, first and sixth; and Camille-Rose Bandy, third and sixth.
