Kathleen E. Wade, 81, passed peacefully in her home the morning of Oct. 6, 2020. Kathleen or "Cassie" as her family and friends all knew her by, was born June 8, 1939, in Camden, the third daughter of Merrill C. and Annie A. Young.

Cassie grew up in Camden and was educated in local schools. Cassie had many jobs over the years. Her first was at the Five and Ten Cent Store, then at Baldwin Cleaners, Van Baalens in Rockland, Camden National Bank and finally at Down East Magazine where she worked for more than 30 years.

Cassie enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and had numerous cats over the years. Cassie's greatest love was Matinicus Island, where she spent most of her childhood summers with her family. When Cassie married and had a family of her own, she instilled the love of Matinicus in her daughter as well. Summer vacations were spent there in "The Pilgrim" visiting with numerous cousins and friends who live on the Island, playing cards, laughing and telling jokes, going to Markey's beach and many other fond memories.

Cassie was predeceased by her husband Lawrence "Tink" A. Wade and brothers-in-law Robert Bishop and Kenneth Milliken.

Cassie is survived by her daughter Tracy Kniesner and her husband, Brian, of Waldoboro; twin sister Cora Milliken of Lincolnville, eldest sister Phyllis Bishop of Belfast; nephew Travis Milliken of Lincolnville, and step-children Jean Wade of North Carolina and Lawrence "Larry" E. Wade of Rockport.
