The body of Dawn Marie Howard, 50, was discovered about 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at 40 Seaview Terrace with a gunshot wound. The medical examiner's office ruled it a suicide, according to Deputy Chief Dean Jackson.

Howard was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Jackson. Someone in the house reported the death when officers arrived. Neighbors said they had not heard any gunshots and were unaware of the situation until they heard police sirens.
