The date that Thorndike real estate taxes are due has been extended to Saturday, Nov. 21. I thought I was a day late, but I was actually a month early.

The hours at the polls in Thorndike on Tuesday, Nov. 3, are 8 a.m. until close at 8 p.m. For voting at other times, please call the Town Office at 568-3655.

Dustin's and my guest recently was Terrie Griffiths of Ellsworth. We enjoyed lunch and a day of laughter.

George Ward delivered 3 cord of firewood that was cut and split perfectly. I highly recommend him for your firewood. He can be reached at 322-8719. It may be too late for this year, but another year is coming.

The recycling center is still not accepting glass. There are lots of other things that you can take there. If you want a list of eligible items, go to your town office or stop by the center and they will be happy to answer your questions.

The Brooks Thrift store has closed until further notice. That was one of the two places that I went to during this pandemic. I guess my world has gotten a little smaller.

Dirigo Grange is holding an outside bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or when the food is gone. Please support your local Grange. There will be assorted baked goods available.

Papa Dixon was a recent guest of Dustin Tibbetts. They enjoyed snacks, jokes and each other.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is quoted as saying, "Women will have achieved true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation."

Have a great week and do not forget to vote. It is extremely important to exercise that right that was fought for.
