Hello, Palermo Community!

The Palermo Community Library is sponsoring its first Chili Drive-up fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $7 for a 12 oz. container of delicious homemade chili (mild, spicy, or meatless), a cornbread muffin, a 16 oz. bottle of water, and two chocolate chip cookies. Preorders accepted by calling Anne at 314-5930, Diane at 993-2040, or Sharon at 462-2898. Additional single servings of chili may be purchased for $5 each. Let us do the cooking so you don’t have to!

Take-out chili is a great option for hunters who want to warm up with a hot meal before heading back into the woods. Come help make this library fundraiser a great success! Storm date: Sunday, Nov. 15. The library is located at 2789 Route 3. For more information, call 993-6088 or email or visit

We at the Living Communities Foundation wish you a happy, healthy holiday season, and we thank you very much for your order!

First hunt a success!

Fifteen deer were tagged at Tobey’s General Store on Youth Hunting Day, Saturday, Oct. 24. One of those was a 134-pound doe taken at 2000 Level Hill Road, Palermo, by Kaleb Brown, age 13. Kaleb’s hunt was supervised by his grandfather, Roger Files, of 307 Level Hill Road, Palermo. Congratulations to Kaleb on his first deer!
