Republican MaryAnne Kinney of Knox has won a fourth term in the Maine Legislature representing House District 99, defeating Democratic challenger April Turner by 434 votes, 2,682-2,248.

Kinney currently works as a maple syrup producer on her farm in Knox and has held a wide variety of jobs in the past, including truck driver, pharmacy technician and credit analyst. She serves on the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee. This is the third time Kinney has beaten Turner, a social worker, at the polls.

During the campaign, Freedom resident Turner said she would like to build an economy that keeps kids in Maine. Expanding broadband to rural Maine and making health care more affordable and accessible, including mental health services, all were issues at the heart of Turner's campaign.
