The Republican Journal received a call this week from Detective Sgt. Merl Reed of the Belfast Police Department regarding a diamond ring the department hopes to restore to its owner.
Reed said the ring was turned in to police in August after being found in the Hall Hill Road area of Brooks. In order to claim it, the owner will be asked to provide a description of the ring to Reed or to Sgt. Nick Oettinger. "It's a nice ring," Reed said, "so we'd like to get it back to (the owner) if we can."
Reed or Oettinger can be reached by calling 338-2040.
